We recently hosted a pink morning tea in our yellow office. Sweet pink treats were shared, a range of pink goods from the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ were available to buy, and tickets were sold in pink raffles.
Raising funds for a worthy cause is an excellent goal, but even more important is raising awareness of the importance of screening to detect breast cancer as early as possible. Billy Kerrisk, of Ray White Golden Bay, said she would consider the event to be a success if even one woman made the decision to do a self-examination or book a mammogram. It is so easy to let these vital actions slip, but early diagnosis is the key to a good outcome.
